36 weeks and my mind is STILL running on high

This is my self portrait taken yesterday in a state of creativity. I was tired of the same old belly shot so I thought I'd try it from different angles. I dunno...I'm kinda liking this one for some reason.

Anyway, the school year is rapidly coming to a close and my neighborhood group is beginning to wind down. I will continue to be the coordinator for our playgroup and I'm starting to compile a list of activities we can do this summer to keep us all from losing our minds. Here are some of my ideas so far:

** Have a playgroup garage sale.
** Weekly picnics.
** Have a movie night.
** Host an etiquette tea party.
** Splashpark outings.
** First Tuesdays at the Art Museum.
** Pool parties.
** Potluck happy hours for mom's night.
** Day at the horse races.
** Putt-putt golf.
** Minor league baseball family nights.
** Arts/crafts themed playdates.

I realize some of these are lofty ideas, especially with me having a newborn on the way in 27 more days, but don't some of these sound so fun???

Playing catch up

I've fallen behind again. Now let's get caught up.

I got an invitation on Tuesday from L to meet her and A at the local splashpark. We had no morning plans so we headed out armed with sunscreen and towels. The boys had a wonderful time running through the spouts and watching leaves flow down the water currents. D didn't want to leave!

L and I talked about our playgroup comrade, S, who is under modified bedrest due to high blood pressure. We need to get a meal list started for her. I am waiting on K to email me back with more specific details and then I can send out a plea to the playgroup. I can't imagine being 9 months preggo and having to chase around an 18 month old (her son is a little younger than D).

Yesterday we had two events to attend. In the morning we went to a neighborhood playgroup. She had a bouncehouse set up for the kiddos to jump inside. It started to pour down rain so we ran inside and utilized the indoor toys.

K and B were there and we discussed going to the movies next Monday with the kids. I will be sending out an email to the rest of the "regulars" to see who else is interested.

That afternoon we were to meet R and G at a local running farm. She called us as we were on the way over to let us know that the farm closed at 4 and it was 3:30. We had a quick change of plans and decided to play over at her house instead. It was still a bit muggy and wet out so we opted to stay indoors.

We were there for about an hour and a half. Her husband is out of town until Sunday so she was ready for some company. It was good for G to have a playmate, too. I'm sure he was tired of playing with only Mommy.

He and D played so nicely together. They really do make great playmates.
